Baku: On March 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Sahiba Gafarova and presented her with the “Sharaf” Order, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev lauded Gafarova for her significant contributions to Azerbaijan’s public and political spheres over the years. He acknowledged her 15-year tenure as a member of the Milli Majlis and her 5-year role as its Speaker, emphasizing her dedication to maintaining connections with her constituents and representing Azerbaijan’s national interests on an international level. President Aliyev expressed his appreciation for her efforts in fostering the country’s development and presented her with the ‘Sharaf’ Order as a mark of recognition on her anniversary.

In response, Sahiba Gafarova expressed her gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her. She conveyed her appreciation to President Aliyev, viewing the award as a testament to the accomplishments of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. She assured the President of her continued support for his policies at the parliamentary level and pledged that the Milli Majlis would work diligently for the welfare of the Azerbaijani people. Gafarova reaffirmed her lifelong commitment to serving society and promised to continue fulfilling her duties both as Speaker of the Milli Majlis and as a citizen of Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev concluded the meeting by thanking Gafarova for her service and dedication.
