President Ilham Aliyev Celebrates Sixth Novruz in Garabagh, Highlights Reconstruction Efforts

Khanoba: President Ilham Aliyev expressed his happiness and pride in celebrating Novruz in Garabagh for the sixth consecutive year. 'Indeed, this is a great happiness. For two years now, this land has been liberated from occupation. Khanoba village was freed in September 2023, and since then reconstruction has begun-houses have been rebuilt, and all necessary conditions have been created,' President Ilham Aliyev said during a conversation with residents in Khanoba village of Khojavand.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev noted that the victory achieved has been a source of pride for several years. He emphasized the importance of lighting the Novruz bonfire together, a tradition he has maintained since 2021. The President remarked on the restoration of national pride, justice, and territorial integrity, acknowledging the heroism of the Armed Forces in 2020 and 2023, which ensured the rightful ownership of these lands.

President Aliyev highlighted the destruction left by Armenia, with entire villages and cities reduced to ruins. He mentioned regions such as Aghdam, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Jabrayil, and Gubadli, where significant rebuilding efforts have taken place. Additionally, he criticized the illegal settlement of Armenians in Lachin and Kalbajar, which were left in poor condition.

The President further stated that within a span of five to six years, more than 80,000 people are already residing, working, and studying in Garabagh and East Zangezur. He noted the ongoing return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands as part of the 'Great Return' Program, highlighting the continuous progress in the region.
