President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on Day of Russia.

The congratulatory letter reads:

“Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich.

Please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of your national holiday – Russia Day.

The centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness that bind our peoples are a reliable basis for the sustainable development of the Azerbaijan-Russia strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. It is especially gratifying that our countries interact on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda.

The signing of the Declaration on Allied Interaction in February of this year confirmed the high level of our interstate relations over the past thirty years.

I am confident that the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation will continue to strengthen and expand through our joint efforts for the benefit of our peoples and countries.

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, On this significant day, I wish you good health, happiness and success, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Russia.”
