President Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Chinese President Xi Jinping on National Day

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, to mark the National Day of China, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aliyev extended his cordial congratulations and best wishes to President Xi and the people of China. He acknowledged China’s achievements under Xi’s leadership, noting the country’s progress in various sectors, including the economy, industry, defense, and technology. Aliyev highlighted his visits to China earlier this year, where he was impressed by the developments and accomplishments he witnessed.

Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of Azerbaijan-China relations, stating that developing ties with China is a priority for Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. He noted that recent interactions have elevated bilateral relations, particularly following his state visit to China in April, where significant agreements, including the ‘Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,’ were signed.

The Azerbaijani president remarked on the mutual trust and respect that underpin the relationship between the two countries. He expressed satisfaction with the expanding cooperation in multiple sectors such as trade, energy, transport, and communications. The successful implementation of the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, especially through the Middle Corridor, was highlighted as a significant achievement. Aliyev also expressed optimism about the impact of the visa-free travel agreement in enhancing people-to-people contacts and strengthening economic and cultural ties.

In his letter, Aliyev expressed confidence in further strengthening the friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and China. He concluded by wishing President Xi good health and success, and the people of China peace and prosperity.
