Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has addressed a congratulatory letter to Mikheil Kavelashvili, President of Georgia on the occasion of May 26 – Independence Day, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter expressed Aliyev’s sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and the Azerbaijani people to the Georgian leader and the citizens of Georgia. Aliyev highlighted the deep-rooted relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, emphasizing the long-standing atmosphere of good neighborliness, friendship, and mutual understanding that has characterized the relationship between the two nations.
The letter underscored the importance of energy cooperation and joint projects between Azerbaijan and Georgia, noting their significance not only for the two countries but also for the broader region. These collaborative efforts are seen as essential for the energy security of many nations.
Aliyev also pointed out the extensive scope of issues on the bilateral agenda, mentioning the active political dialogue that strengthens cooperation across various sectors, including economic and trade, energy, transport, investment, and humanitarian fields.
