President Ilham Aliyev Engages in Strategic Talks with Turkish Vice President

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Vice President of the Republic of Trkiye Cevdet Yilmaz. Cevdet Yilmaz conveyed the greetings of President of the Republic of Trkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Aliyev, who expressed his gratitude and asked for his greetings to be communicated back to President Erdogan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Cevdet Yilmaz emphasized Trkiye's consistent support for Azerbaijan, citing it as a fundamental principle of the Shusha Declaration. President Ilham Aliyev reciprocated by affirming Azerbaijan's unwavering support for Trkiye.

The meeting highlighted the successful development of strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, noting that reciprocal visits at various levels have facilitated the expansion of bilateral ties. The discussions also underscored the significance of the upcoming meeting of the Heads of Government/Vice President of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku, which presents an opportunity to enhance cooperation within the organization.

Cevdet Yilmaz expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the meeting, offering gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for their involvement. He also noted the successful organization of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala last year, praising Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the organization.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest.
