President Ilham Aliyev Engages with BTG Pactual Chairman in Davos

Davos: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Andre Esteves, Chairman of BTG Pactual, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum. The meeting, held on January 19, focused on Azerbaijan's economic strategies and potential collaborations with the Brazilian investment bank.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev discussed Azerbaijan's macroeconomic stability and fiscal discipline, highlighting how these have bolstered the country's reputation as a reliable partner in international financial markets. He also noted that Azerbaijan's credit rating has been upgraded to investment grade, with a positive outlook from leading international agencies.

Andre Esteves shared insights into BTG Pactual's global operations and its experience with institutional investors. The discussion included the company's investment strategies across various regions. It was also mentioned that preliminary discussions have taken place between the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan and BTG Pactual, focusing on potential cooperation and strategic interests.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on global economic trends, international financial market conditions, and investment climates in emerging markets. The dialogue also covered long-term investment strategies and potential mutual investment projects. BTG Pactual, founded in 1983, manages assets nearing half a trillion US dollars.
