President Ilham Aliyev Establishes Organizing Committee for UN World Urban Forum’s 13th Session in Baku

Baku: An Organizing Committee has been established for the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to facilitate the organization and hosting of this significant event in 2026 in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the order outlines the composition of the Organizing Committee, which is to be chaired by Samir Nuriyev, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The committee includes key figures such as Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, who will serve as the National Coordinator for WUF13. The committee also includes ministers from various departments, highlighting a collaborative approach across governmental sectors.

The Organizing Committee has been tasked with preparing and implementing an Action Plan to ensure the successful execution of the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan is responsible for financing the implementation of the Action Plan and addressing other necessary arrangements to support this international event.

The establishment of this committee underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to hosting an impactful session of the UN World Urban Forum, aimed at fostering global dialogue on urban development and planning.
