Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Italian Republic, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his congratulations on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations. The letter emphasized Azerbaijan's close friendship and strategic partnership with Italy, noting the development of relations based on mutual respect and trust. He also mentioned the significance of Italy as a reliable partner and the importance of advancing relations across various sectors.
The letter recalled President Mattarella's second official visit to Azerbaijan in October of the previous year, marking it as a testament to the high level of interstate ties and active political dialogue. The inauguration of the Italy-Azerbaijan University was highlighted as a reflection of the commitment to fostering cultural and humanitarian connections. Aliyev underscored the broad spectrum of issues on the bilateral agenda, emphasizing successful partnerships in trade, economy, energy, industrial manufacturing, and education.
