Baku: During his meeting with participants of international conferences held in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the destruction and desecration of mosques during the period of Armenian occupation, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the president emphasized that 65 mosques were completely destroyed by the Armenian state, with some left in a semi-ruined condition. He remarked that Armenia intentionally and deliberately kept animals, such as pigs and cattle, inside the mosques. President Aliyev stated that these acts were committed to insult and humiliate the Azerbaijani people, understanding their religious sensitivities, and to inflict further pain. He noted that this was an insult not only to Azerbaijan but to the entire Islamic world and stressed the importance of remembering these actions.
