Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has announced that Azerbaijan and Armenia are currently living in peace and are focused on building trade relations. This statement was made in a letter addressed to US leader Donald Trump, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the development trajectory of Azerbaijan-United States relations. He highlighted the strategic partnership between the two nations, emphasizing the importance placed on strengthening interstate relations and acknowledging Trump's steadfast support. The President underscored the significance of the Charter on Strategic Partnership, signed in February, which has elevated Azerbaijan-US relations to a new level. This charter is expected to further enhance cooperation not only in traditional sectors like the economy, energy, connectivity, and security but also in emerging fields such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
President Aliyev also appreciated the efforts made by the United States in advancing the peace agenda in the South Caucasus and promoting sustainable development in the region. He referred to the outcomes of the trilateral meeting at the White House on August 8 last year, which fostered a new and positive atmosphere in the region. The President mentioned the continued support of the US for infrastructure projects that contribute to regional stability and economic development, highlighting the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' as a significant initiative providing a secure link between Asia and Europe.
