President Ilham Aliyev Highlights Progress in Karabakh and East Zangezur

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev announced significant progress in the development of Karabakh and East Zangezur, describing these regions as “already a small piece of paradise.” He made these remarks during a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, emphasizing the increasing number of people returning to these liberated territories.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev noted that in the first four years following liberation, the focus was primarily on infrastructure projects, most of which have now been completed. The regions of Karabakh and East Zangezur are now connected through a circular power grid and integrated into Azerbaijan’s national energy system. With the completion of the majority of infrastructure projects, the government plans to allocate more resources to residential housing.

President Aliyev highlighted that residents have recently returned to two villages in the Khojaly district, increasing the number of resettled communities to 18. He reiterated the ongoing efforts of the ‘Great Return’ program, which aims to bring more citizens back to their homeland in a phased manner. The President expressed optimism about the future of Karabakh and East Zangezur, stating that these regions will continue to be revived and transformed into a thriving area.
