Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation of the Arab Parliament led by its President, Mohamed Ahmed Alyammahi, on February 11, APA reports. President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's strong ties with Arab world countries, covering political and economic spheres, and emphasized the importance of mutual visits to bolster these relations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani leader discussed Azerbaijan's role in enhancing Islamic solidarity, particularly through events like the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku. He expressed optimism about the productive outcomes of the Arab Parliament delegation's visit, underscoring established high-level relations with the League of Arab States.

During the meeting, Alyammahi expressed gratitude to President Aliyev and congratulated him on the progress made in the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Alyammahi praised President Aliyev's efforts in fostering peace in the region and globally, noting the need for more leaders like him.

President Aliyev appreciated the kind words and highlighted the importance of peace for regional development, acknowledging the U.S. President's role in advancing the peace agenda. Alyammahi also conveyed the Arab people's appreciation for Azerbaijan's support on key issues, including the Palestinian cause.
