Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with household waste collection vehicles at the courtyard of the Baku Expo Center.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the vehicles were produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant on the order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and are intended for distribution across various cities and districts in the country.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rashad Ismayilov and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ganja Automobile Plant Khanlar Fatiyev provided a briefing to President Aliyev on the project. The vehicles, totaling 70 with a capacity of 22 cubic meters each, have been manufactured to support municipal waste management. They will be dispatched from assembly sites located in front of the Expo Center in Baku and at the courtyard of the automobile plant in Ganja to 58 different cities and districts across Azerbaijan.
The Ganja Automobile Plant was initially founded in 1986, following an initiative by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. In 2004, under the direction of President Ilham Aliyev, the plant commenced operations. The facility currently provides employment to approximately 500 workers.
