Baku: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has invited his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay a state visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev extended the invitation during a joint press statement with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. President Aliyev expressed his desire for President Mirziyoyev to visit Azerbaijan at a convenient time.

He conveyed his confidence that the visit would foster closer ties between the two countries and their peoples.
