President Ilham Aliyev Meets Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The meeting, held on May 6, focused on enhancing the partnership between Azerbaijan and the IsDB.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, both parties reminisced about their previous meetings and acknowledged that Muhammad Al Jasser's visits to Azerbaijan significantly contribute to strengthening the bilateral relationship. The discussions highlighted the longstanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank, which has been beneficial and productive over the years.

The Islamic Development Bank has played a vital role in Azerbaijan's economic sectors, having implemented numerous projects in areas such as energy, green energy, agriculture, water and irrigation systems, infrastructure, and social fields. It was noted that the Bank has invested over $1.2 billion in nearly 20 public and private projects within the country.

The meeting also touched upon the preparations for the Bank's Annual Meetings, which are scheduled to take place in Baku this June. Muhammad Al Jasser expressed his intention to explore the Alat Free Economic Zone and visit Garabagh during his stay.

The exchange further delved into the current state and future prospects of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Islamic Development Bank, emphasizing the mutual benefits and opportunities for growth.
