President Ilham Aliyev Mourns the Passing of People’s Poet Nariman Hasanzade

Baku: The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, shared a post on his social media pages regarding the death of People's Poet Nariman Hasanzade.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his condolences and highlighted the significant impact Nariman Hasanzade had on Azerbaijani culture and literature. In his post, the President acknowledged Hasanzade's contributions as a prominent figure in modern Azerbaijani literature, noting his accolades including the Heydar Aliyev Prize, the Presidential Individual Scholarship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and titles of Honored Art Worker and People's Poet.

Nariman Hasanzade passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 95. He was recognized not only as an outstanding poet and playwright but also as a distinguished public figure. President Aliyev's message described Hasanzade as a sincere and humble man whose legacy will continue to be cherished by those who knew him.
