Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to express his condolences on the passing of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, as well as numerous civilians.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev was welcomed by Mojtaba Demirchilou, the Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan. During the visit, President Aliyev signed the book of condolence and engaged in a conversation with the ambassador.

President Aliyev shared his memories of meetings with Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei during his visits to Iran. Ambassador Demirchilou thanked President Aliyev for his visit and for extending his condolences.
