Nakhchivan: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, alongside First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, participated in a ceremony dedicated to the presentation of Battle Flags to the newly established operational (commando) military units of the Separate Combined Arms Army on August 11.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Separate Combined Arms Army in Nakhchivan, where President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov provided a report to the Commander-in-Chief on the newly formed military units.

President Ilham Aliyev was given a briefing on the preparations for the Battle Flags presentation ceremony, during which he saluted the personnel of the military units. Following the reports by the commanders of the operational (commando) military units to President Ilham Aliyev, the commanders received the Battle Flags and took their positions in formation.

The ceremony concluded with President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva posing for a commemorative photograph with the personnel of the commando military units. They were also briefed on the weapon systems and military-technical equipment available in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Army.
