Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Berlian Helmy, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan, on January 30. The Ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev discussed with Ambassador Helmy his interactions with the President of Indonesia during previous meetings in Davos and Sharm El-Sheikh. President Aliyev conveyed that he had extended an invitation for an official visit to Azerbaijan to the Indonesian President.
President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's honor of being the first country admitted to the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation since its inception. He expressed his gratitude to all member states, particularly Indonesia, for their support, viewing this as a testament to the respect and camaraderie toward Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev emphasized the ongoing development of relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, underlining the necessity to further enhance political, economic, mutual investment, and business cooperation.
The Azerbaijani President wished the ambassador success in his forthcoming duties. Ambassador Helmy expressed his gratitude to President Aliyev for the reception and committed to working diligently to bolster the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the future prospects of Azerbaijan-Indonesia bilateral relations.
