Washington: “Today we are launching a peace agreement,” stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a trilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the head of state emphasized that the peace treaty process has been ongoing for a long time. He noted the significance of initiating the peace agreement in what he described as “the number one capital in the world” with the involvement of a prominent president. President Aliyev assured that there should be no doubts about the commitment to peace, highlighting that neither he nor Prime Minister Pashinyan would have attended the meeting if there were any intentions to step back from the process.

The President expressed confidence that the developments in Washington would lead to long-term peace for the people and community of Azerbaijan. The meeting marks a significant step forward in the peace treaty process, which has been a subject of international interest and diplomatic engagements.
