Baku: The construction of a ferry intended for Uzbekistan should be expedited, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized during the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as reported by APA's special correspondent.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the successful implementation of projects related to agricultural development and the positive outcomes already achieved in the transport and transit sector. He noted a significant increase in the volume of cargo transported from Uzbekistan through Azerbaijan. Emphasizing the urgency of the ferry project, he stated that discussions with Shavkat Miromonovich had led to a resolution on the matter, and the project now requires prioritization.
President Aliyev pointed out that approximately 10 vessels, including ferries, tankers, and dry cargo ships, are under construction at Azerbaijan's shipbuilding facility, which is currently operating at full capacity. He urged the Deputy Minister of Transport to allocate a slot for the ferry project to ensure it receives priority among ongoing construction activities.
