Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Girmizi Bazar settlement in the Khojavend district on September 14, APA reports. This visit follows the settlement’s return to Azerbaijani control in 2023 after an anti-terrorist operation by the Armed Forces.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, significant infrastructure restoration efforts have been undertaken in the Girmizi Bazar settlement. Electricity and gas lines, along with an artesian well, have been restored. The installation of meters is underway, and two transformers, as well as three water reservoirs, have been repaired. Additionally, over 11 kilometers of natural gas pipeline have been laid, facilitating the operational status of public and household facilities, as well as a production workshop within the settlement.

The settlement comprises 300 individual houses. Of these, 71 are deemed unusable, while 229 are partially usable. Ten houses are ready for use, and plans are in place to restore 217 houses by the end of 2025, with an additional 12 houses to be completed in 2026. To date, 10 families, amounting to 39 people, have returned to the settlement.

During his visit, President Aliyev visited the home of Islam Dadashov, one of the residents who has recently relocated to the settlement.
