Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Ronen Krausz, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan, on August 18. The ambassador presented his credentials to President Aliyev, followed by a discussion between the two.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the expanding relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, highlighting the potential for further cooperation in various fields. He emphasized the importance of the ambassador's arrival during a historic period marked by progress in the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, supported by the United States. This progress is seen as crucial for fostering peace and security in the region and ending longstanding confrontations. The President noted that these developments present new opportunities for Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region in terms of connectivity and various forms of collaboration.

President Aliyev expressed optimism about the continued involvement of Israeli companies in Azerbaijan and conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Krausz in his new role.

Ambassador Ronen Krausz expressed his honor in presenting his credentials and his pleasure at returning to Baku, recalling his previous diplomatic service in Azerbaijan from 2010 to 2015. He underscored the strategic nature of Israel-Azerbaijan relations and the genuine friendship between their leaders and citizens.

The ambassador also expressed gratitude for the attention given to the Jewish community in Azerbaijan, mentioning his visits to the Krasnaya Sloboda settlement in Guba, where he observed the conditions provided for the community.
