Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Sibusisiwe Mngomezulu, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Eswatini to Azerbaijan. The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state, marking the commencement of his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini to President Aliyev, who reciprocated with his greetings to the King. President Aliyev fondly recalled the visit of King Mswati III to Azerbaijan during the 2019 Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku and expressed hope that the King would attend the World Urban Forum in Baku next month.

President Aliyev noted the robust political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Eswatini, emphasizing the potential for expanded cooperation across various sectors. He wished Ambassador Mngomezulu success in his new role.

The ambassador extended his congratulations to President Aliyev on the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the country's economic achievements. He praised President Aliyev's leadership in promoting regional peace and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

Ambassador Mngomezulu highlighted Eswatini's role as Chair of the African Union Peace and Security Council and its ongoing efforts to foster peace in Africa. The meeting underscored mutual support within international organizations and explored collaboration prospects in energy, science, education, tourism, environmental protection, and culture. Both sides agreed on the importance of organizing reciprocal visits to further explore cooperation opportunities and exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
