Baku: President Ilham Aliyev’s involvement in various international meetings over the last 15 days, including the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the 7th Summit of the European Political Community in Denmark, the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, and the Peace Summit on Gaza in Egypt, underscores a multifaceted foreign policy approach, according to Arzu Naghiyev, Chairman of the Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Arzu Naghiyev highlighted that these participations reflect Azerbaijan’s growing influence and the confidence President Ilham Aliyev has garnered among global leaders. Naghiyev stated, “The President of Azerbaijan is recognized as an influential leader on the world stage.” He elaborated that President Aliyev’s messages on crucial issues such as energy security, global cooperation, and peacebuilding hold considerable significance. These engagements illustrate that President Aliyev is not just a participant but a guiding force at these international events.

Naghiyev pointed out specific contributions made by President Aliyev at these summits, noting his advocacy for a new security architecture at the UN, positioning Azerbaijan as a reliable bridge in the South Caucasus at the European Political Community summit, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s leadership in the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, and stressing justice and mutual respect at the Peace Summit on Gaza. These actions collectively enhance Azerbaijan’s image on the global stage.

The parliamentary committee chairman further emphasized that Azerbaijan, under President Aliyev’s leadership, is following an independent domestic and foreign policy. Central to this policy are the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the welfare of Azerbaijani citizens.
