Tashkent: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has made significant contributions to the development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent, APA’s correspondent in Tashkent reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev praised the leadership of President Mirziyoyev, highlighting Uzbekistan’s progress in development and the country’s growing international prestige. The economic reforms and large-scale projects in industry, transport, and agriculture have positioned Uzbekistan as a regional leader and a prominent sports nation, demonstrated by its performance in the recent Summer Olympic Games.
President Aliyev emphasized the importance of Mirziyoyev’s role in fostering Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, acknowledging his actions and attitude towards Azerbaijan. He noted Mirziyoyev as a visionary politician who understands the importance of enhanced cooperation between Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. President Aliyev expressed gratitude towards President Mirziyoyev for his contributions and efforts in strengthening bilateral ties.
