President of Kazakhstan Attends BRICS Summit in Russia’s Kazan


KAZAN: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Kazan, Russia, on a working visit to take part in the BRICS summit, according to the Kazakh Presidential Office, as reported by Trend. During his visit, Tokayev is scheduled to engage in several bilateral meetings and deliver an address at the BRICS plenary session under the ‘BRICS Plus/Outreach’ format.

According to Trend News Agency, The 16th BRICS summit commenced in Kazan on October 22 and is structured into two main segments. The first segment is a gathering of the organization’s member countries, focusing on the theme ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,’ which aligns with the motto of the Russian BRICS chairmanship for 2024. The second segment, known as the “BRICS Plus/Outreach” meeting, will concentrate on the theme “BRICS and the Global South – Together Building a Better World.”
