Nicosia: President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Tufan Erhrman received a delegation of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society led by its Chairman Orkhan Hasanoghlu in Nicosia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the meeting, Orkhan Hasanoghlu briefed the TRNC President on the activities of the society, which has been operating on the island since 2012, as well as on the projects implemented and plans for the coming period.

Hasanoghlu noted that more than 300 Azerbaijanis are currently engaged in official labor activities in the TRNC, making a significant contribution to the development of relations between the two brotherly countries. He emphasized that the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society continues its efforts to strengthen cultural, educational, trade, and inter-university ties.

Highlighting the relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC, President Tufan Erhrman expressed his interest in further developing relations with Azerbaijan. He noted that deepening ties with brotherly Azerbaijan is of particular importance for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and highlighted plans to hold Northern Cyprus Culture Days in a number of countries, including Azerbaijan, in the near future.

At the meeting, members of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, including Rajab Rajabov, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, and Rashad Mammadov, shared their views on enhancing scientific, cultural, and social cooperation between the two countries.
