President of Sri Lanka Sends Congratulatory Message to Azerbaijan on Independence Day

Baku: Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, has extended his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day. In a letter, President Dissanayaka conveyed his warm greetings and the best wishes of the Sri Lankan government and people to the Azerbaijani leader and his nation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter highlighted the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan, characterized by cooperation, mutual understanding, and shared values. President Dissanayaka expressed confidence in the continued strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries for the benefit of their peoples.

The letter also acknowledged the leadership of President Aliyev, noting Azerbaijan’s journey of peace and progress under his guidance. Additionally, President Dissanayaka commended Azerbaijan’s role in the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, specifically its efforts to address climate change challenges.

President Dissanayaka concluded the letter with wishes for President Aliyev’s health and happiness, as well as for the continued prosperity of the Azerbaijani people.
