Brussels: The Republic of Azerbaijan has been recognized as a key partner for the European Union, as stated by President of the European Council Ant³nio Costa. This statement was made during a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Costa highlighted the revitalization of the relationship between the European Union and Azerbaijan over the past year. He pointed out that the current meeting is a clear indication of the strengthened ties between the two entities.

Furthermore, President Costa expressed the European Union's intention to advance cooperation with Azerbaijan in several areas, including security, energy, digitalization, and transport.
