President of Turkish Court of Accounts Highlights Significance of Igdir-Nakhchivan Gas Pipeline Project

Nakhchivan: The Igdir-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline stands as a significant venture between the Turkish Court of Accounts and the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan, as stated by Metin Yener, President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Trkiye. During a media briefing in Nakhchivan, Yener highlighted the successful joint efforts of both countries in realizing this key project, which officially commenced last year with a protocol signing in Igdir. Within a year, the supreme audit institutions of both nations have effectively fulfilled their roles, culminating in the presentation of the final reports of the parallel audit on the pipeline construction.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yener emphasized that the project, implemented by BOTAS from Turkey and SOCAR from Azerbaijan, not only represents a significant collaboration between the two nations but also marks a pioneering effort in the cooperation between their supreme audit institutions. This collaboration has further strengthened bilateral relations and demonstrated the capability to execute projects jointly while adhering to international standards. Yener expressed pride in both institutions and revealed plans to enhance this cooperation. In discussions with the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Chamber of Accounts, an agreement was reached to extend this partnership, with plans for the Chairman to visit Trkiye in 15 days to sign a new cooperation agreement. Furthermore, Yener hinted at forthcoming announcements related to all Turkic republics in September, while expressing gratitude for the hospitality received in Nakhchivan.
