President of Turkmenistan Attends BRICS Summit in Russia’s Tatarstan


KAZAN: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan arrived in Tatarstan for the BRICS summit, marking his first participation in the event. He was welcomed at Kazan International Airport by the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and other officials.

According to Trend News Agency, President Berdimuhamedov’s visit is in the capacity of a guest of honor at the 16th BRICS summit, which began on October 22. The summit features two segments: the first focuses on a meeting of member countries under the theme “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,” reflecting the motto of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship for 2024. The second segment, titled “BRICS Plus/Outreach,” aims to address the theme “BRICS and the Global South – Together Building a Better World.”
