Baku: The first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival for boys is set to take place in Azerbaijan in 2026, following an announcement by President Ilham Aliyev. The President signed an official order confirming the event.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the FIFA Council Bureau decided during its meeting on June 25, 2026, that Azerbaijan will host the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival from October 22 to 31, 2026. The event marks a significant milestone in the world of sports and is expected to enhance Azerbaijan's reputation on the international stage.
The Presidential Order highlights that hosting the first-ever FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival will contribute to the development of football in Azerbaijan and bolster the country's experience in organizing major international sporting events. The initiative aims to strengthen Azerbaijan's position within the global sports community.
The responsibility for coordinating preparations and resolving all necessary issues related to the event has been assigned to the Organizing Committee. This committee was established by Presidential Order No. 849 on December 15, 2025, in relation to Azerbaijan hosting the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been directed to address any issues arising from this new Order.
