Baku: The Presidential Library's Art Literature Hall recently hosted an event titled 'National Musical Heritage and the Mission of Spiritual Values at the Presidential Library', dedicated to the International Day of Azerbaijani Mugham and the Day of Music of the Countries along the Silk Road.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event began with introductory remarks by the Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova. She emphasized the significance of mugham as a symbol of national identity and a rich cultural memory. Professor Abbasova highlighted the efforts of First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, in promoting Azerbaijani mugham globally, including its inclusion in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. She acknowledged Aliyeva's humanitarian mission, particularly her support for children in need and her role in the revival of mugham in liberated territories such as Lachin.

The event featured performances by People's Artists of Azerbaijan, Nazakat Teymurova and Malakhanim Ayyubova, who showcased the intricacies of Azerbaijani mugham. Several notable figures, including Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Sharaf Jalilli, and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sudeyif Imamverdiyev, shared their insights on preserving national and spiritual values.

Distinguished guests such as Major General Arif Hasanov and Colonel Anar Mirzayev discussed the historic victory of the Azerbaijani Army and the significance of Lachin City Day, highlighting the restoration of territorial integrity and the unity of the Azerbaijani people.

Laura Guliyeva, Director of the Nizami District Cultural Centre, detailed the origins of the song 'Azerbaijani Woman', part of the 'Little Hearts Open to the Motherland' project. The music video premiered at the event, followed by a performance by singer Elnur Mammadov and students from Special General Education Boarding School No. 3.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to participants of the 'Little Hearts Open to the Motherland' project, and Professor Afet Abbasova concluded the event by expressing her gratitude to all attendees.
