MOSCOW - On October 8:On October 8, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Moscow to discuss the current state and future of their bilateral relations, as reported by Trend News Agency. The meeting, which included both formal and informal discussions, underscored the positive trajectory of mutual cooperation, with significant economic engagements and potential projects on the agenda. According to Trend News Agency, President Putin expressed his pleasure in hosting President Aliyev and highlighted the positive developments in their bilateral relations since his visit to Baku. The Russian President noted a trade turnover of approximately 4.3 billion dollars, over 4 billion dollars in direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy, and several promising projects in energy and infrastructure. The discussions also offered a chance to make adjustments and outline future steps in their bilateral cooperation. President Aliyev reciprocated the sentiments, appre ciating the continuous dialogue at various governmental levels following the decisions made during President Putin's state visit to Baku in August. He emphasized the importance of the meeting for revisiting and advancing the agenda set during that visit. President Aliyev also extended his gratitude for the birthday wishes and the dinner hosted by President Putin. Additionally, President Putin invited President Aliyev to the upcoming BRICS, BRICS Plus/Outreach events scheduled for October 23-24 in Kazan. He expressed confidence in the productivity of the meetings, which will include representatives from 25 countries, highlighting the platform's utility in discussing a broad range of issues.
