Accra:The Press Council is committed to continuing its efforts to enhance journalism, as emphasized by its Chairman, Vugar Zifaroghlu. During a recent congress, discussions highlighted significant challenges facing the media and the influence of new technologies on journalism.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Zifaroghlu expressed confidence that the newly formed Board of Directors would address these challenges effectively. He assured that the Azerbaijan Press Council would persist in its initiatives to foster journalism development and execute various innovative projects.
Furthermore, the Chairman noted a decline in complaints received by the Press Council compared to previous years. He mentioned that from 2022 to 2026, there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of complaints. All complaints will continue to be thoroughly investigated, with actions taken to resolve them. The improvement in Azerbaijani journalists' professionalism and the supportive environment for the Press Council's activities are expected to lead to a further decline in complaints, potentially reducing them to zero.
