Jeddah: Professor Dr. Noura bint Zaid Al-Rashoud, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Independent Permanent Commission for Human Rights, has called for attention to the dire situation faced by hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the occupied territories. She emphasized that access to clean water has become an elusive right for them, a fundamental necessity for life and dignity. She also highlighted that Palestinians are deprived of basic human rights, resulting in a continuous struggle for survival.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Professor Al-Rashoud delivered her remarks at the 25th Ordinary Session of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The session was held at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah. She urged OIC member states to take immediate and effective measures to implement resolutions from previous summits and Councils of Foreign Ministers. Her call to action included ending the double standards in applying international human rights and humanitarian law.

The Authority expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabian Government, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for hosting the Secretariat's headquarters and for their support in enabling the Commission to function independently and effectively.

The Executive Director congratulated Dr. Haji Ali Ashi Gul on his reappointment as Chairman of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission. She noted that his leadership symbolizes strength, stability, and continuity. Additionally, the Commission expressed respect and farewells to Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi for his impactful tenure as Chairman, which advanced the Commission significantly.
