Baku: A significant meeting took place on June 1, 2026, as part of Baku Energy Week, where SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Martina Opizzi, Senior Vice President of TotalEnergies, and Mohamed Al Aryani, President for International Gas at XRG, to discuss the ongoing developments in the energy sector.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting focused on the progress made in the full-scale development project of the Absheron gas-condensate field. The collaboration between SOCAR, TotalEnergies, and XRG was praised, highlighting the successful partnership in advancing energy projects.

The discussion also emphasized the significance of the agreement between SOCAR, TotalEnergies, XRG, and BOTAS for the long-term supply of natural gas from the Absheron field to Trkiye. This agreement is seen as a pivotal step in ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply.
