Ganja: An investigation is being conducted at the Ganja City Executive Authority by the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Anti-Corruption Main Department under the Prosecutor General has launched an investigation at the Ganja Executive Authority based on an appeal from the Chamber of Accounts.

The Chamber of Accounts conducted an audit at the Ganja City Executive Authority, revealing serious financial violations in construction and repair projects. The audit, which covered the years 2023-2025, examined funds amounting to 192 million manats.

The audit uncovered that the cost of works under the 'Construction of the Ganja Sports Palace' project was increased by 9.52 million manats. Additionally, an overpayment of 1.28 million manats was identified for a 249-apartment residential building. Excess funds amounting to hundreds of thousands of manats were also paid for repairs of the housing stock, major road repairs, and landscaping works.

The Chamber of Accounts noted that part of the overpaid funds has already been returned to the state budget, while court proceedings are ongoing in some cases.
