The Moscow City Court sentenced a publicist Vladimir Kara-Murza to 25 years in jail. Mediazona reports.

The publicist was tried under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — on the dissemination of fakes about the Russian army, the activities of an undesirable organization (due to cooperation with Free Russia Foundation) and on charges of treason.

The prosecutor asked to sentence him to 25 years in prison, the court granted the petition of the state prosecution.

The defense of Vladimir Kara-Murza will seek him to be released from serving the sentence for health reasons, RIA Novosti reports with reference to lawyer Maria Eismont.
