PwC Azerbaijan and Partners Host Seminars to Enhance ESG Reporting Awareness


BAKU: PwC Azerbaijan, in partnership with AmCham and COP29, recently conducted high-level seminars titled “How to Read and Understand ESG Reports” to promote awareness of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting among businesses in Azerbaijan. These events, held on October 21 and 22, convened media representatives, business leaders, and academia to discuss ESG standards and their influence on business operations.

According to Trend News Agency, as Azerbaijan advances toward creating a unified ESG platform, PwC Azerbaijan is instrumental in educating businesses to comply with international ESG standards. The seminars underscored a growing need for transparency and corporate responsibility, emphasizing the significance of businesses in addressing environmental issues and encouraging social progress.

The seminars included insights from industry leaders, such as representatives from PwC Azerbaijan, Coca-Cola, Harvard Business Review, COP29, and AmCham. Discussions revolved around practical ESG repo
rting methods and the necessity of aligning with global sustainability trends.

PwC experts, including Senior Managers in Audit, Gunay Asgarova and Sevinj Alakparova, provided presentations on the technical aspects and formulation of ESG reports. Additionally, Leyla Sadikhova, Senior Manager for Legal and ESG Services, offered an overview of the ESG culture and developments in Azerbaijan, aligning with COP and global trends.
