Los angeles: The American thriller *Not Without Hope*, released in theaters in December 2025, opens with a quote by Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi. The quote reads: 'In our hour of adversity, be not without hope, for crystal rain falls from the black clouds.' By doing so, the filmmakers immediately set out the film's main theme - survival in the face of mortal danger and hope.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the film is directed by Joe Carnahan and is based on the book *Not Without Hope* (2010) by Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman. At the center of the plot is the true story of four friends who find themselves in the open sea after a fishing boat capsizes during a severe storm in the Gulf of Mexico. Due to adverse weather conditions, the search-and-rescue operation yields no results, forcing the protagonists to fight for their lives on their own.
