Railroads in Azerbaijan to Inaugurate Facial Recognition Payments


BAKU: Railroads in Azerbaijan are set to introduce facial recognition payments, a move announced by Tamerlan Mashadihasanli, Head of the Products and Services Department at AzInTelecom LLC. The initiative, revealed during a conference on “Innovative solutions for sustainable microfinance,” aims to modernize payment systems across the country’s rail networks.

According to Trend News Agency, Mashadihasanli highlighted that this new payment method would be implemented through collaboration with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC. The integration of facial recognition technology is part of a broader strategy to enhance customer convenience and streamline operations within the railway sector.

Mashadihasanli further noted that future plans include enabling payments at railway stations via the SIMA Pay system. This development reflects a growing trend towards adopting advanced technological solutions in public infrastructure to improve efficiency and user experience.
