Railway Development to Azerbaijan’s Aghband Village Advances Swiftly: Chairperson


BAKU: The construction of a railway line leading to Azerbaijan’s Aghband village in the Zangilan district is progressing rapidly, as stated by Rovshan Rustamov, Chairperson of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, during an event focused on sustainable transportation.

According to Trend News Agency, Rustamov discussed the ongoing development at an event titled “Sustainable Transport for the Future,” emphasizing the project’s primary goal of establishing a railway connection from Aghband to Salam Melik. The next phase involves preparing detailed project documents for the Nakhchivan railway reconstruction.

During consultations with Iranian officials, the railway route through Iran was closely examined, and an optimal and efficient path has been identified. Final discussions are underway to determine the placement of bridges and the overall alignment of the railway line, as confirmed by Rustamov.
