We expect the shares of contactless payment in total payments in Azerbaijan to increase by 60-70%, Avshar Gurdal, General Director for Azerbaijan and Turkiye of “Mastercard” international payment system said at a press conference, APA reports.

He stated that it is mainly because the rate of adaptation to new technologies in Azerbaijan is much higher than in other countries.

“The fact of the population’s being young, interest in technologies, and the steps the Central Bank takes affect the increase of digital payments. As a result, NFC payments in Azerbaijan have reached 30%”, Avshar Gurdal added.
