Baku: Registration for the Baku Marathon 2025 has concluded, drawing an unprecedented 27,000 participants. The marathon, scheduled for May 4, is initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this year’s registration marks the highest participation in the event’s history. The marathon, themed “Conquer the Wind,” will see competitors from Azerbaijan and numerous other countries, including individuals with physical disabilities and children with Down syndrome.
The race will begin and end at the State Flag Square, traversing a 21 km route that includes the Seaside Boulevard and central streets and avenues of Baku. Both male and female participants will vie for the top three positions in their respective categories.
The marathon organizers have planned to award medals to the first 2,000 finishers. Additionally, all participants and volunteers involved in organizing the event will receive certificates. To enhance the experience, entertainment zones will be established at the State Flag Square and along the marathon route, offering programs, contests, and sports activities for both participants and spectators.
