Record Number of Journalists Register for COP29 Conference


New york: The upcoming COP29 conference has seen a significant surge in media interest, with nearly 3,000 journalists from around the world registering for the event. Ayan Najaf, a member of the Coordinating Council of the COP29 Operating Company, shared these details during a seminar aimed at helping journalists understand and analyze environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Najaf highlighted the diverse origins of the journalists, noting that the group includes many local media representatives. She also mentioned that the deadline for media accreditation to access the “blue” zone of the conference is set for October 21. In contrast, accreditation for the “green” zone began earlier and will continue until the end of October. So far, approximately 150 journalists have applied for the “green” zone accreditation. The high registration numbers underscore the global media’s growing focus on climate change and sustainability topics, as addressed in the annual COP s
