BAKU: Renovation efforts in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region have made a significant impression on UK traveler Richard Ellis, who shared his observations while visiting the area as part of a delegation from the UK Piki Reels club. Ellis, who previously visited Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, praised the harmonious blend of old and new architecture in the city and expressed admiration for the ongoing infrastructure developments in Karabakh.

According to Trend News Agency, this visit marks Ellis’s first trip to Karabakh. He remarked on the beauty of the landscapes and the extensive reconstruction efforts that have transformed the region. “The infrastructure you have created is simply stunning,” Ellis stated, noting the impressive road systems, tunnels, and the preservation of rural areas.

The visit by the 33-member delegation from the UK Piki Reels club to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur is part of a broader initiative to showcase the region’s progress. Since 2020, representatives from major international travel clubs h
ave visited these areas 11 times, with over 400 travelers from more than 50 countries participating. The current visit marks the club’s 12th trip, highlighting the region’s transformation and its potential appeal for dark tourism enthusiasts.
