Kalbajar:Representatives of the Albanian-Udi Christian Community in Azerbaijan, considered the successors to the Albanian (Caucasian) Apostolic Autocephalous Church, recently visited the Khudavang Monastery Complex located in the Kalbajar district.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during their visit, the representatives performed religious rites, prayed, and lit candles at one of the churches within the complex. Rafik Danakari, Deputy Chairman of the Alban-Udi Christian Community, mentioned that since 2020, the community members have been making annual visits to the Khudavang Monastery Complex. They have also visited other monasteries and churches in the liberated territories, as well as the Juma Mosque in Aghdam district.

Danakari highlighted the importance of conducting religious rites in the Udi language, which is tied to the ancient Caucasian Albanian religious heritage. He stressed that these churches represent the heritage and culture of the Azerbaijani people, asserting that all religious sites and places of worship in Azerbaijan belong to their rightful owners, the Azerbaijani people.

Romen Callati, a member of the religious community, described the heritage of Caucasian Albania as an integral part of Azerbaijan's broader heritage.
